No matter if you are young, old, married, or single, and regardless of how active or inactive your sexual life is, accepting life with a stoma is of major importance to intimate relationships.

As a result of surgery, you are forced into dealing with your body in new ways and into talking about things you have never needed to discuss before. Your sex life is one of these things. Returning home after surgery is a time for healing and recovery, which may take priority over sexual adjustment. Yet there are specific things you can do to help yourself adjust sexually:\n
